Melissa Alvarez, our Bilingual Office Manager from Honduras, is the organizational linchpin of Alternative Solutions AG. She handles staffing, manages exports, and as our Site Safety Inspector, Melissa ensures our farm operations adhere to the strictest safety standards, maintaining a secure and healthy environment for both our team and our crops.

Alexis Lewis, the founder of Alternative Solutions AG, is a multi-faceted leader in our operations. He manages our hydroponic development, automated greenhouses, and is responsible for field irrigation and Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Alexis's expertise also extends to managing field fertility and water conservation efforts, ensuring our farming practices are sustainable and efficient. Additionally, he oversees the microgreens, vermiculture, and poultry divisions, further showcasing his commitment to diverse and innovative agricultural practices.

Nkosi Felix - Expert in Controlled Environment Agriculture & Agribusiness Development

Nkosi Felix is an agribusiness professional and researcher specializing in Controlled Environment Agriculture (CEA), hydroponics, and agribusiness development. With a BSc in Agribusiness and an MSc in Marketing & Agribusiness, he is currently pursuing a PhD in Crop Science at the University of the West Indies (UWI), focusing on the influence of light intensity and spectrum on crop growth. An expert in CEA and agribusiness development, he has over 15 years of experience in agricultural research, market analysis, and farm system optimization, having consulted for CARICOM, CARDI, and IICA, among others. Nkosi has designed and implemented hydroponic and fertigation systems for commercial farms, research institutions, and educational facilities across the Caribbean. He has also contributed to policy development, economic analysis, and food security strategies for regional governments and international organizations. As a dedicated educator and trainer, he has developed and delivered hydroponics training programs at UWI and MIC Institute. His research has been presented at leading agricultural conferences, covering topics from market information delivery to controlled environment crop production. Committed to innovation and sustainability, he continues to advance climate-smart agricultural solutions to enhance productivity and resilience in the Caribbean.

His innovative approach to marketing our farm and its products to new clients is instrumental in expanding our market presence. Tariq is also spearheading our Animal Husbandry and Aquaponics divisions, showcasing his versatility and commitment to our company's growth.
